CCM MOTORCYCLE INSURANCE

 

I’m proud to say I’ve had a long friendship with CCM.  Our relationship began way back in 1983 when I was hired as a development rider for their radical new road race machines. 

Our relationship flourished over the next three seasons, as we claimed four British Championships, breaking every lap record in the process, including the North West 200 road course in Ireland. 

Alan Clewes built his brand with passion and innovation, and this is still very much in evidence today as the family continues to take the business from strength to strength. 

The range of Spitfire machines is lovingly hand built and each one is bespoke to the owner’s specification. I also like the fact there is no dealer network, so customers instantly become part of the CCM family dealing directly with the people responsible for their bikes.

There are many variations of the beautiful but very affordable Spitfire range.  All models are powered by the same torquey 600cc single cylinder motor, and in an ideal world, I’d need two. 

The stunning Flat Tracker is ideal for occasional off-roading, and the Bobber to head off cruising at weekends. I’m saving hard! 

I’ve always had a soft spot for CCM for a few reasons. Firstly, it’s a proper northern company based in Bolton, not far from where I was born.

I like the fact they’ve always done stuff their way, never afraid, with a sort of dare to be different approach that’s had mixed results. Even now, when you look at their range, it divides opinion.

I absolutely love the Spitfire models - they are right up my street.
